it should be disgusting
I work an eight hour shift in the middle of the night and have to stay in the same room pretty much the whole time. Lack of cooking facilities, storage, or any way to go run and get something make for some...creative mealtimes.
I'd like to share with you my latest culinary invention, that, to all intents and purposes, should have been completely inedible, but, on the contrary, it was so good I had to eat every last bite before I could even begin typing this post.
I will share with you now the recipe:
warm sloppy cream of greens soup
you will need:
1 small block of firm tofu
2 tbsp canned mustard greens (preferably seasoned southern style)
2 tbsp whole milk plain yogurt
Chop the tofu into small cubes and place in a bowl. Add several spoonfuls of canned collard greens, including some of the juice. Microwave for 30 seconds or until sort of warmish. Add a big dollop of yogurt and mix it all in. Eat with a spoon.
I'm not kidding. It's really, really good. Like so good that I'm probably going to make it again. I'd probably even make it for a guest.
What do you make that should be absolutely disgusting but is actually incredibly good?
Comments
Brie, Polskie Ogorkie pickles and fresh french bread. Mmmm...
Also, peach/mango chutney and cheddar cheese.

well... that does indeed sound disgusting!
i made scrambled eggs with tamarillos once.. the dark juice from the tamarillos turned the eggs COMPLETELY green.. like "green eggs and ham" green. although they were perfectly edible, no one wanted to touch them. bleh. :(

Hm, I don't know of any disgusting looking foods, but I can suggest something that you could try the next time you get hungry. It doesn't require cooking at all. Not even a microwave.
Instructions:
1. Half an avacado.
2. Add sugar.
3. Eat. Instant ice-cream!

Well, most people(who aren't from new england)think that cheddar cheese on apple pie is pretty weird, but it is YUMMY!
How about a cheese sandwich with blueberry jam? Kids will put jam on anything. It's actually not bad, although I think I'd skip the mayo next time!

Peanut butter, pickles, and frito chips. I swear, it's delicious. I used to eat raw potatos too. Some people think fried apples and onions (ever read the Little House on the Prairie Series?) is disgusting, but in my opinion they are sadly mistaken.

Oh I forgot one. My little sister eats hamburgers with mustard and blackberry jam. I think my family just has mutant taste buds.

How about a drink? Put cucumber slices in a pitcher, fill with water, cool it.
Drink water. Oh yummm. Best drink on a summer day.

What the hell are Mustard Greens?

Mustard greens, well, they are exactly what they sound like-the green leaves of the mustard plant. They're sort of a sharp, somewhat bitter green usually eaten like spinach.
