i feel sorry for people who don't live in seattle right now
The beginning of march and everything is starting to bloom. Other parts of the world may have their vivid autumns, but in Seattle in early spring, the world is transformed into bursts of pink, white, yellow and red as all the cherry blossoms, apple blossoms, and scotch broom bloom.

I meant what about the flowers popping out of the ground? Coz duh, the blooms of trees are flowers.

In Illinois, we are still smack in the middle of winter with no relief in sight. Even the weatherperson is getting discouraged, thirtys are forecast for the forseeable future with two inches of snow this morning. So, during the day I am wrapped up in fur and in the evening, curled up with my landscaping and plant books. I am so ready for my bees, planting gardens, eating dandelion salad, playing with Mollie and painting the house.

What really annoys me about the weather here right now is that we had one friggin' day of sunny weather that hit 56 degrees, then it dropped into the 20's and started snowing 12 hours later.
Mother Nature is a schitzophrenic bitch yelling "Neener neener neeeee-ner!" at us.

It's absolutely gorgeous, but just in case you care, the yellow stuff is forsythia.
Scotchbroom is the gnarly prickly stuff that grows so plentifully next to the freeways, with brilliant yellow pealike blossoms.

Forsythia...yeah...I suppose I cut enough sticks of it for cat-prickle-butt-sticks to remember.
