Awesome! Saying that people should actually use legal means to change laws if they're going to, and expressing a view that children should have a parent of each sex makes me a neanderthal now. Rock on :D

Oh, BTW, I'm against the amendment.
The constitution should be what freedoms we have, not which ones we don't.

Only slightly a neanderthal though, Joe and I are somewhere around single-celled organisms.
For the record, I'm against the amendment as well. I just get tired of seeing appointed (not elected) activist judges thinking they can legislate from the bench. As for these various mayors who are issuing same sex marriage licenses
against the laws of their states/counties/etc.: They took an oath to uphold those laws. If they find themselves unable to live with that they can do everything in their power to change those laws, or (failing that) resign in protest.

Dude, I know you have alzheimers and all, but I did tell you that you're a god-hating commie pinko less than a week ago, sheesh :)

Well you're a balding, looney, night-dweller with paranoia issues. I mean that in the nices possible way. I had thought of something else, but I forgot. I was busy getting a manicure at the time. :)

Who's been saying I have paranoia issues??? It's the feds, isn't it?? Either them or the damn animal rights activist scientologists... (grumblegrumble)

I said SLIGHTLY neanderthal, S. But I guess living in Seattle I know so many gay couples (men and women) who have super healthy happy well-cared-for kids. And living in the midwest I met so many fucked up kids of traditional families.... it just makes it very hard for the 'only two hetero parents' view to make very much sense to me.

You know, it may just be that you and I have a different view of what a healthy child is. I am not saying that a gay couple CANNOT raise a well adjusted normal child, I only know that in my experiences working with children they have a harder time.

I wonder (aloud) how much that has to do with bigotry they face from their peers?
Posted by: Daniel Talsky | March 12, 2004 4:10 PM
It does in some cases, absolutely. I can't argue against that. But in other cases it doesn't. But hey, in some cases I have also seen perfect parents have shit for brains kids, so maybe it really isn't a good indicator at all eh?

Hehe.
